Last Minute Summer Trips

Summer isn't over yet! There's still time to fit in a vacation by exploring the perfect destinations. Here's a roundup of the top last-minute summer vacation spots.

Disney World

A trip to Walt Disney World does take considerable planning, but it can be done last minute. Just understand that there may be some limitations when choosing a resort, and trying to secure dining reservations. To ensure a memorable vacation for all, have everyone prioritize their "must-do" experiences. Start with these activities, and the rest will be an added bonus. Consider preferences for hotel amenities and plan accordingly. A refreshing pool for midday breaks might be more appealing than evening campfires.

Caribbean Cruise

Cruise line lose money if they set sail without a full ship. That means when the ship isn‘t full, there are some excellent deals to be had! Now, if you really want to go on a Caribbean cruise, I would not take this approach. But, if you‘re looking for a last minute summer getaway, this may be just the ticket. Caribbean cruises are a superb option for multigenerational travel groups. There are activities for young kids, teens, adults, and older adults. Everyone can usually find something they enjoy. Again, you‘ll need to flexible with the ship, itinerary, cabin type, etc. Not much beats sailing in the Caribbean and visiting their ports of call!

Universal Orlando + Beach

Trips to Universal Orlando are fairly easy to plan last minute! This is great news if you haven‘t booking your summer vacation yet. Universal Orlando has three amazing theme parks to explore: Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay water park. They have immersive lands like the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and Jurassic Park. Not to mention the new DreamWorks land that recently opened. Pairing a Universal theme park vacation with a couple days at the beach is an excellent option! Cocoa Beach is an easy add on for Orlando based vacations.

All-Inclusive in Cancun

Cancun is one of the most cost effective places to visit an all inclusive resort. The supply is high, which helps keep the price lower. New resorts open every year, keeping the destination new and interesting. Another plus is these trips are easy to budget for because everything is included in a single package. The airfare, resort, and food are all in the single package for convenience. Excursions, spa treatments, and other activities may be available at an additional expense, but are not necessary for an exceptional trip. If you’re looking for an excursion, we recommend taking a day trip over to Isla Mujeres. It’s a small island off the mainland near Cancun. You can charter a boat, or take the ferry over to check it out.
